Type in and out times (9a, 5:30p, 1730) to get daily and weekly hours in h:mm and decimal, overtime, gross pay and a printable timesheet. How it works: Each day is out minus in (overnight shifts roll past midnight), minus your unpaid break. The week is the sum, shown as h:mm and decimal hours. Overtime follows the rule you pick: weekly over 40, daily over 8 and 12, or both. - [Hours between two times](https://matt5516.github.io/time-card-calc/hours-between-times/): Free calculator for the hours and minutes between two times. Handles overnight shifts and unpaid breaks, and shows the answer as h:mm and decimal hours. How it works: Duration = end minus start; if the end is earlier than the start it is the next day (add 24 hours). Net = duration minus break. - [Decimal hours converter](https://matt5516.github.io/time-card-calc/decimal-hours-converter/): Free decimal hours converter. Turn 8:15 into 8.25 and 7.75 into 7:45, with a quick chart of common values like 0.25 = 15 minutes and 0.5 = 30 minutes. How it works: Decimal hours = hours + minutes ÷ 60. To go back, multiply the decimal part by 60 to get minutes. - [Overtime pay calculator](https://matt5516.github.io/time-card-calc/overtime-pay-calculator/): Free overtime pay calculator. Enter regular, overtime and double-time hours with your hourly rate to see gross pay line by line at 1.5x, 2x or your own multiplier. How it works: Regular pay = regular hours × rate. Overtime pay = overtime hours × rate × 1.5. Double time = hours × rate × 2. Multipliers are editable. - [Biweekly timesheet](https://matt5516.github.io/time-card-calc/biweekly-timesheet/): Free biweekly timesheet calculator. Enter two weeks of in and out times to see hours per week and per pay period, with overtime counted in each workweek on its own. How it works: Each week is calculated on its own with the overtime rule you pick, then the two weeks are added. Hours are never averaged across weeks. ## Guides - [How to calculate hours worked](https://matt5516.github.io/time-card-calc/how-to-calculate-hours-worked/): Hours worked = out time minus in time minus unpaid breaks. Subtract the in time from the out time, then subtract any unpaid break. 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch is 8 hours. If the out time is earlier than the in time, the shift crossed midnight and counts as the next day: 10 PM to 6 AM is 8 hours. ### How do I convert hours and minutes to decimal hours? Divide the minutes by 60 and add the hours. 8 hours 15 minutes is 8.25 hours; 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours. ### How is overtime calculated under federal law? The Fair Labor Standards Act requires covered, nonexempt employees to be paid at least 1.5 times their regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. A workweek is a fixed 168-hour period, and each week stands alone: hours are not averaged across weeks. ### What is California daily overtime? In California, nonexempt employees generally earn 1.5 times their regular rate after 8 hours in a workday (up to 12) and after 40 in a workweek, and double time after 12 hours in a workday and after 8 hours on the seventh consecutive day of a workweek. Other states differ. Check the rules that apply to you. ### Do weekends and holidays count as overtime automatically? Not under the federal FLSA. Weekend and holiday work is overtime only if it pushes the week past 40 hours, unless a contract, policy or state law says otherwise. ### Does ClockInMath store my timesheet? It remembers your last times, hourly rate and overtime choices in this browser (local storage) so they survive a reload. It never saves your name and never sends anything to a server. ## Related tools - [GradeOrFlip](https://gradeorflip.com/): Is it worth grading?
